Chapter 8

This presentation didn’t really utilize the full potential of prezi in my view. The background was a boring white with default black text, nothing was really made to stick out.  The uses of pictures were helpful in getting the point across along with their commentary.  Although it wasn’t to creative the prezi was very direct and to the point.
This chapter was about the importance of being able to read text in general. It’s stated that books were authoritative because of their stability and simplicity.  The group pointed out that we give authoritative properties to Websites when in fact they aren’t and these are properties that are important when it comes to text.

1) Why aren’t websites as authoritative as books?
2) Will websites ever become authoritative?
3) What is the real purpose and nature of reading?
4) is the poststructuralist theory only relevant to hypertext?
5)  What makes Hamlet more praised than a 20th Century novel (in relation to the prezi)
